About Our Shelter
Since 2016

Because the children are our future

„Our Christian Orphanage was established after our village in Zwedru was devastated by the Ebola virus. Many people died—mothers, fathers, sisters, and brothers. It was a tragedy; our village was stricken with grief, and dozens of children were left as orphans without family members to look after them. The elders of our village held a community meeting for us all to attend. The elders announced that an orphanage was necessary to house the children who had no one to care for them. Everyone embraced the idea and was in support. The Elders asked us all who would want to be the caretaker, and people were silent. Then my husband stood up and said, „I will. I will be the caretaker for the orphanage, and my wife will take this journey with me and look after the children and keep them safe.“ This is how our orphanage started.“ – Eliana Eva

Our goals are to feed, clothe, shelter, and educate these children. We equip them with life skills development to transition them into adulthood and become leaders in their communities. We provide a sense of belonging and community by creating a loving family environment. We provide dignity and support for the staff by training and educating them for daily life at the center. We are a Christian organization dedicated to caring for orphaned children in Liberia.

James 1:27 (NIV) ~ Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
